Hi !

It looks like being a nice mod ! I just have a question regarding video : do you, as well, experiment some delay between audio and video when watching a movie, either with youtube app or a movie player ? I saw other people on samdroidmod.net having these issues, but I wonder if this is more kernel-related or not...

Thanks for your answer,
Regards,

With “ROM: I570EXXJE4 (eclair) // kernel: LK2.06.beta4 // equk mini mod // relocate dalvik to /cache)” I am getting around 5MFLOPS & haven't had any problems with stuff dropping out.
The huge tombstones dump files aren't there either so guess that was all a side effect of having JIT.

> I decided it wasn’t worth sacrificing the stability for the extra speed.

From what I understand - if anything - is that it should improve very little beyond your battery life.

Just out of curiosity what was you Linpack score using just the following modifs : "ROM: I570EXXJE4 (eclair) // kernel: LK2.06.beta4 // equk mini mod // relocate dalvik to /cache)"?

TIA
James

These results are from using the ARM11 optimized kernel from samdroid and the ARM11 optimized JIT.

equkmod doesn't include JIT as it seems to be really buggy. I have experienced the google sync services dropping out and lost push email due to this.

Without JIT there don't seem to be any problems so I decided it wasn't worth sacrificing the stability for the extra speed.

The volume is controlled in the kernel.
To reduce the volume you would need to put on a kernel which doesn't have the volume tweak or compile your own.

The earlier LKMod kernel had the samsung startup sound commented out in the source so you wouldn't even hear it, so you could maybe try one of those and still retain the volume tweak

Helllo

I am getting ~5.100 with Linpack using your modifs (ROM: I570EXXJE4 (eclair) // kernel: LK2.06.beta4 // equk mini mod // relocate dalvik to /cache) which is good but no where close to what you are getting.

Any ideas on how to improve my score?

TIA

Hello

I was driving by last night and I noticed your mini mod.
I couldn't resist installing it and after playing with it for 24 hours I am glad it did!

I am now getting ~5.100 with Linpack which is an improvement on the custom ROM I was using previously (http://forum.frandroid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=13642&p=19).

The only minus is the loud startup.... Any tips on how to lower the startup sound track?

Regards
James

Just found your site while searching for info on gaining more space on the i5700 (2.1, no root or other hacks). I think I will have to finally root it to be able to move things to SD. Anyhow, I find your new project very(!) interesting as it could save us (all Spica owners) lot of headaches during trying to get all of this mods one by one. So, looking forward to see the finished product!
