The most fiddly bit was grinding out the tabs on the button holes.
The Fightstick 3 has a common ground board so that made it a bit easier and meant a lot less soldering.
Desoldering took forever because of the amount of solder used to hold the buttons in place (as in the above pictures). Looks like it was soldered by hand and is a bit messy.

The original buttons seem really flimsy and take little pressure for the switch to move. The main stability seemed to come from the solder points.

I am thinking of maybe doing a dualmod (already have a 360 donor) and also maybe adding some custom artwork, altho am holding back on the artwork as I’ve not decided on a main character on SSFIV yet.

The only thing I don’t like is all the abusive messages I keep getting when I beat people.

At the moment I’ve changed my main character to Juri and she seems really fast but is quite balanced, have had quite a few good games and beat a lot of B & C grade players. She is so fun to play, I haven’t got used to her ultra1 yet but after watching some tournament videos it seems ultra1 is the one to use as she can combo off of overheads etc.

Yesterday evening I thought I’d have a change and played as M.Bison only, to see how easy/hard it is to play a charge character. It is pretty hard if you like instant quarter circle players, but after a hour or so I was holding charge and winning. Started new account and got to grade D+ in about 2hours, only lost 3 matches lol. He seems so powerful, I love the mindgames with his moves and also his teleport adds so much. His new ultra is also so funny and can be baited easily like Juri’s.
The one character I think will be amazing if people put in the time is Dhalsim, much improved in super and very hard to get hold of when put in the hands of a good practiced player.

I got this game on pre-order with the dhalsim t-shirt and have been playing with some of the new characters.

Have to say I like a lot of the new characters, but the changes to some of the existing characters seem to break them. Cammy was one of my main characters before super and she just doesn’t do the damage she did before.
Also the whole pace of the game feels weird with some characters. eg: hitting cammy’s links online seems to be harder than hitting juri’s links online.
Slower characters really struggle aswell and seem to end up getting crossed up a lot.

Guile, Bison & Chun-li seem really strong in super.
Balrog is still quite strong as he doesn’t seem to have changed much.

Some of the new moves seem to change the game completely and I think moves where players can go from one side of the screen mid air to the other diagonally messes the game up slightly as you get people spamming these moves (eg: Adon & Guy).
One character who reminds me of zangief’s amazing grapple power, health and strength is T-Hawk with added air moves, he’s pretty hard to predict and often punishes with his grabs (which seem to come from nowhere).

When I got the game the first new character I tried was Dudley as I loved him on 3S but after playing online over the weekend I found him to be limited and sometimes slow. I moved onto Ibuki (another 3S char) who I think has massive potential due to the damage and combos.
Over the weekend I tried most of the characters including guile who seems amazingly strong now.

The most fun to play at the moment seems to be Juri as she has some cheeky moves and can bait everything including her ultra2. I still haven’t got used to her ultra1 but I think some players in japan will get hold of her and make some amazing combo’s from her ultra1.

A well known fault with the rockband drumkit seems to be the bass pedal breaking.
Seems to be made of thin plastic and the way it is designed puts strain on the middle.
I broke mine about 3weeks after getting the drumkit while playing AC/DC let there be rock.

Since then I was using a mod with the magnet & looking around for a proper metal bass pedal. Most bass pedals are pretty expensive at £30+ so took me a while to find one at a good price for modding.
I was going to buy a normally closed alarm door sensor as this does the job the original rockband sensor does.
I then thought that as the sensor was still working why not open up the rockband pedal and use it.

First thing you need to do is open the rockband pedal.
One thing I noticed on mine was there are some rubber parts on the bottom which are glued on, these are pretty stubborn but if you can get under them you can get to the 4 screws.
Once you have removed the screws, remove the cover from the top and you will see the sensor.
Mine seemed to be held in by 2 really small bits of plastic which were easily removed with some sidecutters.

Once you have the sensor you will need the Magnet from under the pedal (4 screws on the orange leaver will get this out)

Next important part is to remove the beater from the pedal.

So now you should have a Sensor (with wire still attached) and a Magnet.
All you need to do is work out the best place to put these on the pedal.

I put the magnet in the center of the pedal and the sensor mounted directly beneath (they do not need to touch).

That’s basically it.
Might take a while to get the placement of the magnet and the sensor right but once it’s all done plug it all in and start drumming.

I previously had some old mousemats over the drum pads but decided to mod them properly.

Basically got some circular foam pads which have a adhesive side.

The main thing is to make sure you clean the pads before sticking the foam onto them as otherwise you may find the foam doesn’t stick very well.
I used lighter fluid to clean mine as then I knew it would be dry after. (also I have some for cleaning heatsinks)

Another thing which really makes a difference to playing is getting some proper drum sticks. I am currently using some 5AN (nylon tip) ones.
