			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-694" title="css_logo" src="http://www.equk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/css_logo.png" alt="" width="135" height="135" />Since the orangebox update there have been numerous bugs, lots of them are exploitable &amp; some are being kept secret.</p>
<p>There is a huge bug at the moment since the last 3 updates where you can double tap on certain weapons giving you an advantage. On some weapons it causes huge recoil and also for people who do multiple double/triple bursts in matches it just messes up the recoil now whereas before you could do proper timed bursts for headshots.</p>
<p>There are also bugs with sniper zoom/accuracy/movement (allowing people to run while scoped) &amp; a known bug where nades can do more damage (exploitable as it&#8217;s not random).</p>

<p>The doubletap bug comes from the <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/4114/" target="_blank">updates released on  23/07/2010</a>.<br />An update came out today but does nothing to stop it.</p>

<p>The main problem at the moment seems to be interp/lerp.<br />After looking on various discussions and sites it seems that people with a lower interp can have an advantage, especially when peeking corners.<br />If you are quick enough you can shoot someone without actually being seen.</p>
<p>One thing which could fix this is the addition of zBlock to force cl_interp to 0.01 (as it was before the patch). But as zBlock doesn&#8217;t yet work on the orangebox update, everyone has free reign over the value and as a result often people with 100ms+ ping can gain a advantage.</p>
<p>Server admins can allow clients to put cl_interp down to 0.01 by adding this to their server cfg</p>
<p>//server interp<br />sv_client_min_interp_ratio &#8220;0&#8243;<br />sv_client_max_interp_ratio  &#8220;1&#8243;</p>
<p>The clients can then disable interp_ratio and put interp down (we all disabled this the first time around)</p>
<p>//client interp<br />cl_interp &#8220;0.01&#8243;<br />cl_interp_ratio &#8220;0&#8243;</p>
<p>There are a few good additions to the patch but they are vastly outweighed by the way the netcode seems broke due to so many variables being open for clients to change.</p>

<p>After playing it for a few days I think it&#8217;s pretty good and time flies by so quickly. There are quite a lot of bugs tho.<br />I had read about all the tweaks for sensitivity, FOV &amp; FPS tweaks on various forums so spent a few mins implementing these tweaks. 2hours later (yes I was annoyed to say the least) my sensitivity/FOV was set correctly.<br /> The problem is there are different variables for sensitivity depending on what you are doing. There is Infrantry, Stationary Vehicle, Jeep &amp; Air Sensitivity (<strong>4 Cvars for 1 thing</strong>) so it&#8217;s near impossible to get them all set the same as they all differ.</p>
<p>Once I got online I thought it was pretty nice graphics wise.<br />I don&#8217;t like how new players have the lesser weapons putting them at a HUGE disadvantage.<br />The whole stats system seems to make people grind for points (much like MMORPGs) and boast about them. People don&#8217;t actually care much tbh, games are about having fun &amp; the whole epeen thing is pointless (will probably bring in so many cheating kids aswell).</p>
<p>The game seemed ok until I got a sniper rifle out and aimed directly at people (even close range) and only about 40% of the hits would register as hits.</p>
<p>I found some more tweaks about setting interpolation based on latency (my ping to the servers I&#8217;m on is 15ms)</p>
<p>On setting this it seemed even worse but I tried it for a few nights and then put it back to how it was.<br />The whole hitreg thing reminds me of playing quake2 with a 28k modem as you have to aim in front of people to actually hit them.</p>

<p>There is a new patch coming out which supposedly fixes a lot of bugs but I&#8217;m not sure if it will fix the hitreg.<br />A lot of people who play BF2 say the hitreg in BF2 is a lot better so I guess there is hope.</p>
<p>Over the past few nights I&#8217;ve seen at least 30people kicked by punkbuster for cheating and have also seen people blatently botting with names like headtest and headshoot.</p>

<p>The most fiddly bit was grinding out the tabs on the button holes.<br />The Fightstick 3 has a common ground board so that made it a bit easier and meant a lot less soldering.<br />Desoldering took forever because of the amount of solder used to hold the buttons in place (as in the above pictures). Looks like it was soldered by hand and is a bit messy.</p>
<p>The original buttons seem really flimsy and take little pressure for the switch to move. The main stability seemed to come from the solder points.</p>
<p>I am thinking of maybe doing a dualmod (already have a 360 donor) and also maybe adding some custom artwork, altho am holding back on the artwork as I&#8217;ve not decided on a main character on SSFIV yet.</p>

She is so fun to play, I haven&#8217;t got used to her ultra1 yet but after watching some <a title="ustream" href="http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6790580" target="_blank">tournament videos</a> it seems ultra1 is the one to use as she can combo off of overheads etc.</p>
<p>Yesterday evening I thought I&#8217;d have a change and played as M.Bison only, to see how easy/hard it is to play a charge character. It is pretty hard if you like instant quarter circle players, but after a hour or so I was holding charge and winning. Started new account and got to grade D+ in about 2hours, only lost 3 matches lol. He seems so powerful, I love the mindgames with his moves and also his teleport adds so much. His new ultra is also so funny and can be baited easily like Juri&#8217;s.<br />The one character I think will be amazing if people put in the time is Dhalsim, much improved in super and very hard to get hold of when put in the hands of a good practiced player.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I got this game on pre-order with the dhalsim t-shirt and have been playing with some of the new characters.<a title="ssfiv" href="http://www.equk.co.uk/2010/05/06/super-street-fighter-iv/" target="_self"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-499" title="ssfiv" src="http://www.equk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/ssfiv.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="148" /></a></p>
<p>Have to say I like a lot of the new characters, but the changes to some of the existing characters seem to break them. Cammy was one of my main characters before super and she just doesn&#8217;t do the damage she did before.<br /> Also the whole pace of the game feels weird with some characters. eg: hitting cammy&#8217;s links online seems to be harder than hitting juri&#8217;s links online.<br />Slower characters really struggle aswell and seem to end up getting crossed up a lot.</p>
<p>Guile, Bison &amp; Chun-li seem really strong in super.<br />Balrog is still quite strong as he doesn&#8217;t seem to have changed much.</p>
<p>Some of the new moves seem to change the game completely and I think moves where players can go from one side of the screen mid air to the other diagonally messes the game up slightly as you get people spamming these moves (eg: Adon &amp; Guy).<br />One character who reminds me of zangief&#8217;s amazing grapple power, health and strength is T-Hawk with added air moves, he&#8217;s pretty hard to predict and often punishes with his grabs (which seem to come from nowhere).</p>
<p>When I got the game the first new character I tried was Dudley as I loved him on 3S but after playing online over the weekend I found him to be limited and sometimes slow. I moved onto Ibuki (another 3S char) who I think has massive potential due to the damage and combos.<br />Over the weekend I tried most of the characters including guile who seems amazingly strong now.</p>
<p>The most fun to play at the moment seems to be Juri as she has some cheeky moves and can bait everything including her ultra2. I still haven&#8217;t got used to her ultra1 but I think some players in japan will get hold of her and make some amazing combo&#8217;s from her ultra1.</p>

<p>I haven&#8217;t really used it much but the friends list looks crap (the font for starters).</p>
<p>I had a look around and found you can edit the skin to change the font style etc. I have made a skin which changes the font to bold so you can actually read it on high resolution.</p>
<p>Will hopefully develop the theme to look like the old style, using my mumble skin I made a while ago as a reference.</p>

<p>I have been looking for a new keyboard for some time and was looking at the razer keyboards as they seem to have some nice drivers and actually look pretty stylish.<br />I have ended up buying a Razer Pro|Type keyboard. It is the first keyboard which features a ipod dock (altho I don&#8217;t have an ipod so didn&#8217;t buy it for that).</p>
<p>It is basically a white version of the Razer Tarantula.</p>

<p>I have uploaded some pictures of the keyboard in my gallery and think it is going to take some time to get used to as I&#8217;ve used the same keyboard for 5years.</p>
<p>So far I&#8217;m finding it nice to use as the keys are a lot softer and are not as deep as the keys on the Apple Pro Keyboard.</p>
<p>The drivers are very nice also with options for macro&#8217;s and function keys. (I&#8217;ve yet to find a use for them other than running applications but am sure they will be usefull for something)</p>
<p>The wrist wrest built into the keyboard is nice aswell (I was previously using a microfibre towel)</p>

<p>The extra macro keys light up blue and there is a large razer logo on the wrist rest which pulses with a blue light.</p>
