Steam & VAC Bans
I thought I’d post an article regarding cheating as recently I’ve seen a lot of people being VAC banned and also heard stories of people I know now having previous accounts VAC banned.
After playing FPS games online since 1995 I am obviously aware that there are a huge number of cheats around (aimbots/wallhax etc).
The number of cheats and also cheaters has grown over recent years, probably down to the idea of being a ‘pro gamer’.
My stance is really if you cheat and you get caught then it’s your fault and your problem. I have no respect for people who do it.
Recently a few people who I play with have been VAC banned.
The main thing which surprised me is at least 2 of them haven’t ever been (or seen to be) good players.
Not really sure why people feel the need to cheat but when playing in high+ games you see it all the time and if you search youtube for busted css videos you will find a huge number of videos showing people blatantly walling, following people with crosshair and even on occasions firing at walls aimed at others heads.
A few months back I was watching the UK team play in a EU tournament and on speccing one guy it seemed blatent he was cheating. Later on we found that it was decided he was cheating when people watched the demo’s back and therefore the uk lost that game.
At the time I was amazed, but it also took me back to the days of quake3 when I was in div1 as so many people back then were blatent cheaters.
Recently a player I know who is a manager of a well known ‘pro-gaming’ clan was VAC banned but on asking him, he said he wasn’t bothered as he had another Steam ID, also adding that he was just ‘testing’ a cheat on a public server.
This made me look thru my friend list on steam to find another 4 people who are also VAC banned and also on looking thru some old links to people who were on my friends list I found another 6.
Then yesterday I was comparing different configs from well known clans to my own to change some stuff and I found another player who had been VAC banned.
Tomáš “WT” Herout from Reason Gaming, the player who was given the title AWPer of the year by Cadred and who was also in one of the biggest teams in europe.
The 5mil ID is VAC banned, am guessing his 10mil is his new main Steam ID.
On converting the IDs to steam community it does seem that this is the case.

Seems a bit wierd as he has attended a lot of LAN events.
Also would think that he would remove the old one from his config so maybe the account got hijacked but wouldn’t really be too sure tbh.
Main thing is, if you cheat & get caught then it’s your own fault.
If you have multiple accounts for testing cheats (yes I know 3 people who do this) then you are pretty sad and will probably get caught anyway as VAC ban over a random amount of time after picking up your cheat.
